"let us witness the reincarnation of the Sun"

Fields of the Nephilim made a well overdue appearance and performed in the land of St Nick,
the Nightmare after Christmas at the Helldone Festival in Helsinki on 30th December 2007.
It was celebrated in conjunction with the Finnish ensemble Him,
at the personal invitation of lead songster Ville Valo.

The Nephilim appeared on stage at the 24th Moment casting their shadow on the land of the midnight sun,
darkening their winter still further.

Dedicated Nephilim fans - many of whom had traveled from all over the world to witness
this live occurrence - watched alongside awestruck Him fans,
as seasoned anthems such as “Moonchild”, For her Light”, ”Penetration”, and “Last Exit for the Lost”,
stood alongside powerful aural soundscapes from the band’s 2006 album “Mourning Sun”.
Biggest surprise of the night was when the first haunting bars of the classic “Psychonaut”,
rang out across the claustrophobic auditorium, sending those gathered into virtual rapture.
It was the first time it had been played live in many years,
and very few Nephilim fans expected ever to hear it again.

“We played “Psychonaut” in honour of Austin Osman Spare,
Carl Mc Coy said. “It invokes the essence of this great man, his work, his art, his life,
and being the anniversary of his birthday it was a good way to celebrate that”.

“It was a pleasure playing Finland for the first time!
We praise those who watched over us”.

So with the Nephilim's astounding resurrection in 2007,
and great excitement and interest surrounding their Helsinki gig,
the Nephilim will step up a gear in 2008,
playing a series of live shows and special events which
will begin early spring with a show in Poland.

Fields of the Nephilim Live at Helldone Festival!!

Fields of the Nephilim excel in being out of the ordinary,
and committing themselves only to the most magical of journeys.
To this end, we can exclusively announce that Carl McCoy and the band are set to play a very special gig in Finland,
on Sunday, 30th December.

They will be a headliner at the three-day Helldone Festival organised each year by Finish gothic rock group Him,
who, as long time admirers of Carl and the Nephilim, personally asked Carl to appear at this very special event.
‘I can’t think of no better way to complete the year,’ Carl said,
‘Scandinavia has always held a special place in the hearts of Fields of the Nephilim,
even though this will be the first time we have ever played Finland.
We look forward to greeting fans old and new.

Helldone is held at the Tavastia Club in Helsinki,
and each year dedicated fans of Him and the other headlining acts descend on Finland from all over the world.

Tickets are sold more or less immediately,

STILL LIFE

News from the Outpost is that Fields of the Nephilim are preparing to embark on the next leg of the journey,
comprising of the eagerly awaited follow up to "Mourning sun", additional projects and live events.

As always there has been speculation and rumours surrounding releases and live performances,
of which confirmation will be posted here as and when it becomes official.

24th MOMENT-LIVE DVD

We have the added pleasure at last to be able to view the majestic return of
Carl McCoy and The Nephilim at the 24th Moment show filmed at The London Astoria on 24th May 2007
by cult filmmaker Richard Stanley.

Carl McCoy has taken the reigns and is currently well in to production of the live audio/visual media of the 24th moment.
Carl sees this event as a very significant marker in the Nephilim evolution and is keen to share the experience.

For all you Watchers,
this is one not to be missed.

SHEERFAITH ARTWORX

As some of you may be aware Carl McCoy has always worked predominately in the field of visual presentation,
not only within Fields of the Nephilim and The Nefilim stage persona, but also with the magickal interpretations
and graphic creations of SheerFaith together with his partner Lynn,
they are both the Art, Design and Craft force behind the enigmatic and subtle creations
that not only represent but compliment and complete all the Nephilim designs,
from Burning the Fields, Moonchild, Elizium, Zoon, Mourning Sun and all in between above and below.

Many of us have not been privy to the wealth of images and vistas
SheerFaith have created and in there many formats,
as they have not been exclusively lent for Nephilim works.
So to be able to inform you that at last SheerFaith are producing fine art prints
and of a selective view of original Nephilim moments is exciting stuff.

We do know that they will be available from a SheerFaith on line gallery,
and there is a positive indication of a SheerFaith exhibition.
Carl and Lynn have sustained and maintained a very elusive craft,
their work is dedicated to the principle of truth and belief in what they do, its not just for rewards or sakes.
They adhere to these convictions, SheerFaith as the name implies,justifies this.

They use traditional skills, pen and ink, paint, clays, sculpture, photography, calligraphy, montage
and collage etc and have adapted to the skill required to embrace CGI and Digital composition.
The SheerFaith print series will be a delight to many of you,
who have inundated The Watchman for many moons concerning the availability
and genuine requests to acquire the original iconography.
So keep watching for the availability of these images.

ASTORIA GIG - 24 MAY 2007
A THANKS TO ALL

On behalf of Fields of the Nephilim, we would like to thank all those who
attended the Astoria gig in London (click here for a full
review). It was a very special event, which marks the beginning of a new era
for the band, both on stage and with future projects.

"We are incredibly pleased with the whole show & the amazing reception received,"
Carl said afterwards.
"It was great being back on stage performing live again, and we
appreciate the support received from fans, and also for their brilliant reviews
and comments after the show.

"The night was special for us too, not just for the strange coincidences
surrounding it, but also because it was a significant nexus point for us all.

The whole event was filmed by British cult film director Richard Stanley
for a special project currently being put together. But more on this soon.

"It was good to see fans old and new," Carl added. "We applaud all those who
were there who traveled from far & wide to take part & witness the event.
